Welcome to the Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce. I am pleased to serve as Chairman of the Board for the 2016-2017 year and am proud to live and work in this small, but vibrant City. As one of the bedroom communities in the greater Seattle area, Mukilteo stands out as a leader in the aerospace industry, as a gateway to Whidbey Island and beyond, and as a prime location to live, work and play.
The Mukilteo Chamber’s Mission Statement says we are dedicated to promoting business development and economic growth in our area. As a Board, over the past several years we have worked tirelessly to increase visibility and create opportunities for our business community. The evolution of what works and what needs to change for companies means that as an organization we too, must continue to evolve and develop as a Chamber.
Economic stability in an ever-changing global climate is attainable through careful planning, conservative but forward thinking actions, and a “can-do” attitude. Our Board has, and continues to foster opportunities that allow our businesses to succeed. We offer regular networking opportunities such as our monthly Business After Hours, Chamber Breakfast and as an educational component, our Lunch & Learn series and Leadership seminars. Every week, our Networking group meets at the Chamber office to showcase and highlight new businesses in the region. New this year we will host a Health and Wellness Fair in February and a Wine and Distillery Tasting in April. We are introducing a new program, Young Professionals, which will focus on the 20-40 year demographic and will offer tangible ways to be active in the business community both from a professional and a civic standpoint. They will be hosting an Amazing Race Mukilteo challenge this July. Our Chamber also manages several community events that bolster our ability to provide programming, and nurture the partnership with our local businesses.
As our region continues to rebound from the economic downturn of years past, the Chamber remains responsive and alert to the needs of our business community. By supporting our businesses, we enhance the livability and livelihood of our area, our neighbors and ourselves.
