In our area, the lovely colors of Autumn would normally begin about mid-September. This year because of the fairly dry summer, experts say that the trees are traumatized, and therefore, are they have been losing their leaves early to protect and preserve the life of the tree. How sad! We love to see the leaves turn color and THEN fall off.
Regardless, there are several areas in Washington state that will have the traditional falling of the leaves and for those Leaf Lovers, plan to visit Leavenworth’s late September Autumn Leaf Festival. Also in Spokane or other parts of the northeastern part of the state, the lovely aspens are shown off in all their glory.
If you are staying closer to home, head to Seattle. The Arboretum and Discovery Park are great places to enjoy the scenery.
One way or the other, Fall has not yet “fell” so get out there and enjoy the richness that Mother Nature offers us in the beautiful #PNW.
