WA Employment Security Department released August 2013 employment report for Snohomish County this week. Findings include:
- Nonfarm employment in Snohomish County contracted by 1,600 from July to August, with an August tally of 267,500.
- From August 2012 to August 2013, 3,800 jobs were added to the Snohomish County economy. The private sector has been responsible for most job growth year-over-year (3,300).
- Employment in Snohomish County’s manufacturing sector has been falling throughout 2013. July (revised) and August estimates show that manufacturing has dipped below July and August 2012 counts.
- Construction employment is gaining momentum. Four hundred jobs were added in August and 1,900 have been added over the year.
